Windsor Castle

The highlight of the day is undoubtedly Windsor Castle, one of Britain’s most treasured historic buildings.

Your visit may include:

  • The magnificent State Apartments
  • St George’s Chapel
  • Queen Mary’s Dolls’ House
  • The castle grounds
  • Historic courtyards

The castle has been home to British monarchs for almost 1,000 years and continues to be used for official royal ceremonies today.

We generally recommend allowing around 2 hours to enjoy your visit however this can be extended if you wish.

Please note: Admission tickets are not included in the tour price and should be booked in advance where possible.

St George’s Chapel

Located within the castle grounds, St George’s Chapel is one of England’s finest examples of Gothic architecture.

It is famous for being:

  • The burial place of Queen Elizabeth II
  • The burial place of Henry VIII
  • The setting for many royal weddings, including that of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle

Even for visitors with little interest in royal history, the chapel is an impressive and peaceful place to visit.

Windsor Town

After visiting the castle, many guests enjoy spending some time exploring the charming streets of Windsor.

The town offers:

  • Traditional English pubs
  • Independent shops
  • Cafés and restaurants
  • Souvenir shops

Depending on your interests, feel free to extend your time time for a coffee or a relaxed stroll before returning to Southampton.

We are happy to recommend somewhere based on your preferences and allow extra time in the itinerary if required.

Eton (Optional)

Founded in 1440, the college has educated numerous British Prime Ministers, members of the Royal Family, and other notable figures.

It provides an interesting contrast to the bustling streets of Windsor and offers some lovely riverside views.
